Terence McKenna's Blue Streak

Our take on Terence McKenna's Blue Streak podcast

Terence McKenna’s Blue Streak is an audio and video podcast about the life and work of Terence McKenna as seen through the Lux Natura Archive, produced in association with SpectreVision Radio. Blue Streak offers a deep dive into the electric mind and mercurial voice of Terence McKenna — drawn from the vast range of audio recordings he generated in his lifetime, which are now in the Lux Natura Archive. Part excavation, celebration and time-travel, Blue Streak traces the arc of McKenna’s thought: from his iconic lectures on psychedelics, consciousness, creativity, language, and the living intelligence of nature — to raw, early rants crackling with intellectual audacity. Listeners will hear restored radio dialogues with late-night broadcasters, casual conversations recorded in the living room with fellow thinkers and friends, and field recordings captured in the Amazon during ethnobotanical adventures. The series also features dramatized readings from McKenna’s journals and letters, revealing a more vulnerable and personal current beneath his public persona. Blue Streak follows the streak itself — the rapid-fire, poetic, and mischievous verbosity that made McKenna a singular voice at the crossroads of psychedelics, philosophy, ecology, and the imagination. Hosted by his daughter, artist Klea McKenna, Blue Streak offers a living archive — a chance to receive a transmission from the edge.
